Informative Speech

Informative Speech

A Poem by icaros13

I thought I felt
her green eyes
in class Wednesday

but I wasn't sure...

today I was
almost late,
sat down and once again

those damn green eyes...

the professor asked
for volunteers
she was the first

she stopped in front
of my desk
and leaned over for the prop

it would've been easier
had she walked further down...

she turned around,
looked at me
and gave me
an informative speech

three topics from
whatever she was holding

she smiled at me
and I thought
I saw a glimmer

memories threatened
to paralyze me

but they're all good
with no regret

I'm still alive
so what the hell

I smiled back

I like that attitude, that's kinda how I feel, still alive may as well smile back. She has green eyes ...nice. I like green, but love brown better. fav lines, sounds like forgiveness: she smiled at me
and I thought
I saw a glimmer

memories threatened
to paralyze me

but they're all good
with no regret

I have an unhealthy weakness for big brown eyes...I have only dated one girl that didn't have them.

. remarkable ... the experience and the poetry that records it so beautifully ... "memories threatened / to paralyze me" ... is, for me, the most profound part of this piece ... i had my tryst with paralysis last night ... my perception of "justice" almost got in the way of peaceful sleep ... until ... "I smiled back" at life :) ...
