Enlightenment

A Poem by icaros13

Had I been Edmond Halley
When King of Heavens he was crowned
My name would be immortal
But I'd be dead next time around
My excitement soon replaced
With a perpetual sad frown
For I'd know I'd reached my grandest up
The only way from here was down
