Mining Mariana

Mining Mariana

A Poem by icaros13
"

_

"
Obsessive alchemist's ramblings
attempting to transmogrify
soul to pen,
heart to ink.
Tirelessly searching
the Sea of Anguish
for poetic Philosopher's Stones
abandoned in the depths of Mariana.

Jagged shards of loss
rip through happy flesh;
rejection flows freely.
Script and scars,
despair and sleeplessness-
life's blood staining pages,
granting immortality
to mortal wounds.

it's amazing how one's mood can effect our own, but dear heart if this is what you produce in the walk of melancholy then all I can say is strum on, it's sadly beautiful as all longing hearts can only be, I guess all poets are a small splinter away from manic, I fear it's a prerequisite for brilliance.

I am humbled, poetess.
This entire poem meant so much to me, but these lines:
"life's blood staining pages,
granting immortality
to mortal wounds."
It is indeed as if our blood and pain is on the page, forever documented.

. there's so much pain in these words ... so much pain ... we have to face it ... there's no other way ... you know what inspires me ? ... exquisite poetry like this ... it speaks to me .. whispers in my ears ... moves my soul ... and makes me believe that there is life beyond pain ... thank you for this post ...

About
For we have thought the larger thoughts And gone the shorter way. And we have danced to devil's tunes, Shivering home to pray; To serve one master in the night, Another in the day. ..I do love.. more..
