For No One to SeeA Poem by ava KH
Deep I plunge into the icy abyss,
Pull me out of this never ending spiral! Will no one assist? Do you care that I hurt? That I mournfully cry? That I desperately need? This I concede, I hide too well this searing, choking pain inside me, What I want no one to see I frolic like a gazelle in fragrant flowers, a smile shining on my face, Then I hear something I can never erase, Yes I recall! And I do care! But do you remember what you said? Or are you unaware? Kept inside it must be, What I want no one to see I float like a brilliant, blissful butterfly on a warm summer day, Until you cast a nasty glance my way, Did I offend you? Have done something wrong? I can’t tell, so I turn to song, The music sets me free, an unknowing escape, Giving me hope that I can release this desperate plea, What I want no one to see Song, verse, and word, an always steady rock Who cares if they mock? I am both swirling sorrow and sunny joy mixed together, They are tied with an inseparable tether! What does it matter what people think? They bring my boiling, bitter anger to the brink! One day I’ll show the one, who has the key, What I truly feel, in the hidden corners of me, What I want everyone to see © 2018 ava KHAuthor's Note
