A Poem by L.
"

This made sense to me at the time but reading back....

"
I walk for miles with the same feet
With the same leather soles
And count the pennies in my pocket
With hands cracked but warm
And with yesterday's best hair
And tomorrow's last day of wear
I walk for miles in my mother's dress
With faded fabric - aged tears
I wrap my secret in brown paper
And it slides thick and wet with grease
Across my fingertips and drops
Onto my lover's sheets
I'd wrap her body if I had it
in a pool of woolen ravels
And if I had the guts I'd bury it
Beneath my garden's gravel
