Prague

Prague

A Poem by L.

Oh darling, take me to Prague

Where I know no-one but you

I’m tired of these long-spun days

I wash my hands of these grey damp curtains

Oh darling, take me to Prague

We won’t recall those dark bleak dawns

We’ll let the divine saints guide our way

The moon kissing blessings onto our grubby heads

Oh darling, take me to Prague

I would see nothing but good if I were there

Not a single odd thought will cross my mind

Nothing but roses under my bed tonight

Oh darling, take me to Prague

There would be not a soul but ours

Just silence and us and the cobbles under our bare feet

Our bones, they ache for Prague.
