Slavery

Slavery

A Poem by ibarfly jones
"

imagine you are a slave newly braught to America during the 1700's, describe your experiences and feelings. ...an exact 12 bars must be used.

"

I can' believe I survived the ride on this slave ship
pestilence, disease, death, and so many hardships
I hit the land and tried to gettaway quick
got caught, doing labor, or feel the master's whip
they say I'm not a slave but an indentured servant
freedom can be obtained If I chose jesus to worship
but I can't cause that's how I became mohammad
I lived through this before always so much drama
no more allah, no more jesus, no more chains
I'm probably dying tonight but I'll at least cause pain
not only did I burn the fields and free all the game
he's about to have a grandchild that's should carry my name

Being a slave must have been scary, they were treated so horribly and nobody deserves to be treated that way. They didn't want to survive because they knew that what was coming next would be worse and that when they did die that it would be in a worse way.

I feel sorry for them.

Great poem
