To My Father

To My Father

A Poem by lilrissriss
"

A poem that I wrote for my father for father's day & I'm proud to say it brought tears to his eyes.

"
The bond is unbreakable;
one between father and daughter.
A story of a relationship made of surprises,
with life, day by day, as the author.
His love is surreal and sometimes,
so powerful it's unbearable.
But his love is also a gift and she needs it,
even when it seems so terrible.
The necessity for embrace with
the feeling of his presence is constantly there.
Secure and untouchable, she always feels
when she is under his care.
Aching when separation is in occurrence,
requiring his strength to hold her up...
Reassurance, confidence, her biggest supporter,
when life is too much, he is enough.
Mother's are there for feminine things,
and father taught her to be strong.
When mother said; "you must act like a lady,"
father said; "not if someone treats you wrong."
But together they raised a well rounded woman,
not a moment of her life was passed by.
Because father won in all things personality,
every feeling she expressed, he stood by her side.
So not a moment of his life shall be passed by,
without genuine recognition.
For all the great things he does for her,
continuous without a limit.

He is, and he never lets a day go by without reminding me of that. Thank you
Thank you for giving me a picture of your relationship with your father. Your poem does a beautiful job of showing the kind of relationship that is missing in all to many families these days. My father's father did a poor job in almost every regard in raising him. Despite this, my dad decided that he would be everything that his father was not. He would be a daddy. As you say, "When life is too much, he is enough." and "Not a moment of his life shall be passed by, without genuine recognition." These are perfect descriptions of both what a father is, and how I feel because of that. My father showed me what kind of man I should strive to be, and I am forever grateful.

Any father would be brought to tears to hear your poem. It shows that they are doing what few can. They have been a daddy.
