Autumn Leaves

Autumn Leaves

A Poem by Ian Craven

Autumn leaves passing by each tell a story as they die. Once a year upon their time they come forth green on limbs and vines. They mark our world with shades of color, filling all the gaps that need covered. New sight new vision they allow us to see; one view is dead and the other living. Ornaments of the earth that they are send a message like falling stars. Each leaf has its time of lush green beauty that leaves its veins as it passes by. It turns a color such as yellow or red leaving a remembrance of its time. It soon yields its life, falling to the ground, there to stay. Season by season the world wears a coat of many colors that is soon stripped away. Yet it waits to be clothed in colors that will not fade in due time. For the leaves this is their story to cloth the world in its glory.

It's like the beautiful things of our world, sometimes their lives are short and they burn out fast. Well done I loved reading it.
