To change the past, or to strive,

For the better, or is it all a lie?

Questions with formidable weight. As to why the oppressing darkness inside? ...maybe the light flickered for a second. maybe you just have to find a new source of light. :)
as for wanting to make a change for the better. Even if the attempts seem useless, or like they're failed. .you gotta be stubborn, and keep pushing on, that is of course if you believe the goal is worth it. why we exist? debatable... I'd rather stop babbling now and say you're a great poet :)

Deep! Deep!! Deep!!! I really enjoyed this. I could feel the panic and confusion embedded in the narrators voice and I also had a glimpse of my own questioning thoughts too.

"can you tell me why I exist?" I think the question mark would be more appropriate for that first line. But regardless, the poem is beautiful because it can be taken from a religious point of view i.e questioning God or some Ethereal being or something. It could also be taken from the purely inquisitive side of someone whose struggling to get a grip on what it is their purpose is.

It takes on a depressive undertone but it also begs the question: "aren't we all depressed, one way or another?".

Keep writing Shadowine. Keep the poems pouring in. Going ahead to read more of your work.
