In The Falling Rain

In The Falling Rain

A Poem by Em_qureshi

Half asleep, Half awake

In the falling rain, I think of you,

The dripping of the rain drops, soothes me, but

Will again it pain,

In the falling rain,

Now take the road to my destination,

To make all my dreams come true, that were left behind

To reach the stars, to be a star

But, what if I failed?

In the falling rain,

Cool breeze on my face,

Fluttering hair in the air,

Standing up to life, without you by my side,

But, what if I missed you,

In the falling rain,

Pain-stained memories,

I hold in my heart,

Ache and poke me,

They say it'll all be okay,

But, the rainbow won't come out

In the falling rain

Now we cross paths, and look each other in the eyes

And then leave, not daring to look back,

And it rains again,

Turn around, I watch you leave,

I know its now and forever,

And now I know,

I won't miss you,

In the falling rain

Sad days and rain. They seem to fall into one. I liked the honest thoughts leading to the proper ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
