A free verse poem about pain

"Black and White"

It is either black or white

Am i the angel or the devil

Is this love or merely obsession

Am I still in sanity or this is insanity

On the other side of the table

You were writing all about life

While me on the other hand

Wrote poems of death

Everything made me feel sure

That I truly am the devil

The one side I'm always afraid of

Something whom I fought

I am being eaten by these shadows

Darling I'm so sorry

But I always bring havoc

Turning any beautiful things into ruins

Darker, I become darker each day

Losing every inch of my sanity

Oh, how I wish I could just die

Before I become a living dead

Right now I wanna die

Before I lost my faith in everything

Before I lost my faith in Him

Before I become damned

Everything are just plainly painful

Each step that I take is a suffering

Every words I utter torn my soul in pieces

Every beat of my heart  is suffocating me

How can I resolve this issue if the only resolution is dying

Coz darling I know everyone will be happy if I'm dead

And there's no one who would bother you

My favorite stanzas are the first two, which the opposing forces inside the same person transitioning into opposing forces in two people. And I also think the stanza starting with "Right now I wanna die" is strong with the repeated structure. Each stanza gets deeper into the theme, which makes the reader want to continue. The ending is also strong with how the lines are longer than any part of the poem, making it stand out, and the reader knows its coming to a close. Great poem!

There is this feeling of confusion of "I" in the first stanza, and this poem also have a really nice flow to it, following the structure of going deeper and deeper into something... of a darker theme I guess? I really like the line "How i wish I could just die / Before I become a living dead"
