Past LoveA Poem by GeckoI hope everyone who has experienced
the devastating downfall of love, The unexpected shattering of their
heart that they couldn’t yet predict Because they were so caught up in
the feeling of overwhelming lust and longing For the person they worshiped, The person they prioritized most, The person they thought was their
other half. I hope those gentle souls learn to
love again, Open up their hearts with a
welcoming smile and open arms. And slowly the light will start to
flood into the windows of your mind That you angrily covered with the
shutters of grief That will be drawn open now, that
will be forgotten. I hope that your heart that has been
restrained by thorn bushes of hatred And hanging ropes of heartbreak
will break free, Will cover up its wounds. And you do, you hesitantly hold
your needle and thread on the operating table And slowly, carefully you stitch up
the gashing wounds of past love. © 2021 GeckoFeatured Review
