Shooting for perfectionA Poem by Liz Alexander
Shooting for the moon
Shooting for perfection through The spirit To reach the perfection That Jesus braced Through the tempting of the world Jesus focused on the spiritual things While most of us focus On what the world Says about us The visions of the world Religion is the worlds We are from God He is who we chose follow I am shooting for the place Behind the those pearly white gates Oh spirit help me Focus on things through you So I see the upward crown I pray for people to see past The religion in me See to the heart of Jesus In me Do we as brother and sisters Really want to focus On the words the world pins To the church That Jesus death and raising again Are we a stumbling block In front of brothers and sisters To the world Religion has become a taboo So let it end on this note What is your view on shooting for religion? Or shooting for a Jesus in the spiritual things? Shooting for perfection Inspired by: waterfall Finished: 1-19-12 © 2012 Liz AlexanderAuthor's Note
