Flashbacks

A Poem by Liz Alexander

The flashbacks come into my mind
Seeing the faces in my mind
When I hear the song
Tears will spiring
By closing my eyes
I can picture their faces in my mind

I close my eyes
And visual the little boy
That all he needs is love
But does not know
What the word means
Hate in his eyes

The little girl that always smiles
When she was running around
You can see the innocence
in her face still pure
I remember their faces

His face appears in my head
Just like the picture I took
All those months ago
He was always there
Waiting for me to snap another
His eyes full of wonder

These faces appear in my mind
As I pray for each child that
Touched  my life
My hope is
That one day
I will have the chance to see them again
These pictures may never leave my mind

Some memories are to teach us and make us stronger. I like the description and the desire of this poem. A strong ending to a very good poem.
