*beat* *beat*

*beat* *beat*

A Poem by Liz Alexander
"

Longing and symbolism is key in this poem

"

*beat* *beat*

My heart stops

*beat**beat*

When I see the car

That plagues my dreams

Even if the owner

Is nowhere to be seen?

*beat* *beat*

My heart stops

*beat**beat*

Some days I will be driving

And I see a shiny color of it

And my heart stops

*beat* *beat*

Catching my breath

Days before

I hear whispers of pain

In my heart before

I see the car

In my dream

There goes my heart stopping

*beat* *beat*

My heart stops

*beat**beat*

I wish I could get the feelings

To pass you away

Every time the car leaves

It takes the feelings

Yet I have a piece

Of my heart

Only to come back when

The beat comes to a halt

*beat* *beat*

My heart stops

*beat**beat*
