Leaving me in Heartbreak

Leaving me in Heartbreak

A Poem by Liz Alexander

From the inside

I feel like crying

What goes on

In my brain

When low and behold

My dreams turn to you

Why can’t my heart let go

Of the power that you bring

How can I see the world?

Carrying around

This baggage of you

One who treats me

Like a stray and wild horse

Never coming closer

Than they have to

The words are never

Directed to me

I am just a lonely piece

Of trash every one steps on

Until one day some one

Dares to pick it up

Who shall be the one?

To find this piece of trash

As a prize in their mind

I am tired of waiting

Will I be tricked?

Tossed into the ocean

Like a rock that is skipped

Then sinks

Never to rise again

I have been around

A few times

I have scars and bruises

From people who walked

Across me

Like the piece of trash

I have met people who

Want to skip me like a rock

In to the deep blue ocean

Never having to deal with me

Again….

Leaving me in Heart break <3

Many times in a life. We will feel alone and not wanted. I was lucky. I like being alone to think. I wrote my best poetry when I was sad. Your poem is sad and beautiful.
