Thy slave

Thy slave

A Poem by Liz Alexander

Should I know

That time will tell

Who will see

In the word of thee

Speak thy words

I shall never thought

Thy takes the words

Clear out of the mouth

I have yet to open it

My bossom shall speak

The words you have stolen

Since I first

Took a breath

Out of my mother womb

Shall the Night

Suck the breath

Of you

That made me mute

To words

That thy has made

Thy own

Let me set thy free

So the chains

Will break down

How shall I prove

To you that my words

Are never more seen

Than when thy speaks

Those words

A time again

Hear her speak

When they listen

I shall put my chains

Or again

Being ever more

Thy slave

Slavery is the most evil of deeds done by man to another man. In this world slavery is alive and well. Children are stolen from parent and used as prostitutes at very young age in Asia and Africa. The poem told of slavery and learning to accept it. When you give away freedom. You because just flesh and bones. Complete poem is outstanding. A very good ending.

In our modern world it is hard to believe this sort of thing still happens, but it does... most of it controlled by third world Governments... thanks for speaking up for those who can't.

You did use old English words. It is definitely a change of pace. It is unique and interesting. I thank you for taking the chance and obviously trying something that you are not 100% comfortable with. I really like it. It is fun and interesting. THank you for sharing it here! All the best.
