Watery Grave

Watery Grave

A Poem by Liz Alexander

Water

The thing that

Keeps us alive

Oh how the irony

The same thing that keeps

You alive

Can also kill you

Tears have been shed

On people who silently

Have drowned

The thing that keeps you alive

Is the thing that can drown

Every one

Kind of scary how

Water can

Become our killer

Oh the pain

Steping foot in

Our watery grave

Poem is excellent. I like the story inside the poem. Tears can relieve the pain also. When we turn cold and close the door to living is when we fall in the the watery grave. A outstanding poem. You made me think.
