PrisonerA Poem by Liz AlexanderI am a prisoner of my life The walls of my house Is my cells My brothers are the guards The ward is my mother Telling what to do Or not to do Days will go on My tears are not heard The guards lash Only for a few hours Can I escape my prison cell In the the world Where they reconize my face My face is on wanted posters In peoples mind NO one cares What I say I am never free Since I live in my life Which I am the prisoner
