In Time

In Time

A Poem by Liz Alexander
"

a man cheats on her life

"

In a one night stand

A man cheats on his wife

While he who full and drunk

After he wakes up

In the strange bed

And realized what he has done

He regrets it so much

When he tries to stand up

The next thing he knows

He had fallen back in bed

When he got home

The first thing he did

Was went to his wife

and confessed

The sinthat he had committed

begging his wife to take him back

Forgive him for his one stupid Mistake

She looks down at him

He pleading on his hands and knees

She just looks away

And says let me think

Over the next few days

He buys her flowers

all the things

At the beginning

Both of them are starting over

In time she might forgive him

forgiving the easy part~ I think it's the forgetting that seems to be the most difficult IMO~ nicely penned piece!!

I really like this piece. We all make mistakes and when we do we should try to do the best we can to fix them.
In the second stanza in the fifth line "sinthat" should be sin that?

Would take a wonderful woman to forgive a man for the foolishness. Your poem was written well with a sad story. We need to think before we act in a life. Time is the only healer you are correct. A excellent poem.
