New Year to come

A poem for the New Year

The past year

Was filled with Joy and happiness

And some sorrow and pain

Our nation is going

Through some changes

Changes good and bad

People have lost jobs

That hurt the nations economy

We almost hit rock bottom

So all we can go is up

And up is where

Everyone needs to go

Some people think

Obama is crazy

With the health care plan

And he might be

 

But this next year

Who can say what it

Will bring

All we can do is pray

And be hopeful

that this year

will be better than the last

And that it will

bring more joy and happiness

instead of sorrow and pain

Each day is a blessing

Use it well

And treat it like our last

 

For there is a New Year to come!

I really like that it's about what's to come and not o stay hung up on the past. =)
"Joy" was captallized in the first stanza but not on the second one.
