Not your fault

Not your fault

A Poem by Liz Alexander

There you go
You given me hope again
I am gripping on this cliff
Trying not to slip back in
Why won't this crush for you die?
I blame you but it's not your fault
It's the same cycle
A cycle I'm trying to break
So I will walk past this hope
For me and you to be a thing
Drag my heart back from off the cliff edge
I don't want to fall back into the pit of having a crush
For it has become a black hole
That over the years has turned into hopeless time
Wishing for something that should not be
You were so close to giving me hope again
For a chance without heartbreak
But it's not your fault I just misread signals

It is sad when we learn wasn't there dear Liz.

I do understand the above lines. Old song once said. Can't always get what we want. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.
