I am afraid

I am afraid

A Poem by Liz Alexander

I am afraid of a lot of things
I am afraid of life
I am afriad of getting hurt
Afraid of letting my name known
I am afraid of the unknown
I am afraid of ending up alone
My fears make me do stupid things
I am afraid of my ex friends
Afraid to make him see the me
That he once saw
I am afraid of what his friends might think
I have overcome some of the fears at times
But I am afraid of the looks
Why are you here looks
I am afraid I love people too easy
I am afraid I am a bother
These fears are real
That is why I stay on the outside
I am being burned again
I am afraid saying goodbye
I am afraid of the future
This is what I am not afraid
I am not afraid of giving gifts
I am not afraid of writing
I am not afraid of God
I am not afraid of anything in him
Not afraid of praising him
I afraid of things without God
But with him, he is the courage to keep me going
There's times I forget that he is courage
Because I could not do anything without him

I am not afraid of being a daughter of God, sister of to Jesus Christ
