A Poem by Liz Alexander

Walk away, avoid my gaze
Actions speak louder than words
Show we the girl
Who is there for you
These eyes of my stormy grey
Need to see
This heart that beats
Needs the knife
For it to stop
It's beating for a crush
That has been drowning
In a cup of coffee filled to the rim
The brown liquid is a slow death
That awaits this heart
Yet for when these eyes see the truth
So the heart can blow a kiss good-bye
Towards the cup
Which has drowned it for so long
My eyes can avoid your gaze
And these legs can walk away
Since actions speak louder than words

Is someone pining away love in a cup of coffee?? ;) my best lines are
"Need to see
This heart that beats
Needs the knife
For it to stop"
Nice piece but why use "rim" instead of brim? I really love the rhythm of the poem.
