If You Were Mine

If You Were Mine

A Poem by Jacques - iNkwire
"

I originally started this with longing for a person, but as reality set in and my feelings began fading, I had to change the tone...

"
I'd wear your hands like gloves
and your arms like scarves
Echoes of your voice my earrings
and an errant hair or two my charms

If you were by my side
There'd be no need for a fireplace
I'd never buy a sweater
if I had access to your embrace

I'd have no need for honey
If I could call you mine
for my coffee would always be sweet
if I was near you all the time

I could say"if" all I want
but that's not the world I'm in
Perhaps the deepest we could go is
asking , "How have you been?"

About
Hi. Most of my work is poetry, but I intend to put some stories out in the future. I write about what makes me feel strongly. This approach mostly results in romantic pieces, but I hope to branch o.. more..
