Excuses

Simply put: I'd like an excuse to talk to a certain person.

Is now a good time
to spew whatever nonsense
is on my mind?
It's arguably blank,
like I'm out of reason or rhyme,
but it almost doesn't matter
if we discuss cheese or rocks
as long as I have an excuse
for you and I to talk
I don't mean to interrupt
or to inconvenience you,
I know you're a busy lady
but if there's anything I can do
You can give me a ring
My nerves won't protest as much
If I'm doing a thing
so please give me the excuse
because I want to be helpful
and able to talk to you
