Monosodium IntimateA Poem by Jacques - iNkwireThis piece is about half measures and unequal returns in love. This is a companion piece to my other poem, "Junk Food Man"
You gave me s**t
Sprinkled with MSG And a few years ago, It was enough for me I'd not notice the stench And just enjoy its quick taste Then I'd try to get more And do so with haste But even turds were too much For you to give to me And now I realize You wouldn't do this If you had respect for me I'm done asking why You put me in this place Because giving you any energy Is so plainly a waste I'm not something to keep hidden in your back pocket to be summoned for convenience or kept crumpled in a wallet I thought it was going so well, but I was in for a treat At the flip of a switch I thought I was in Hell tossed asided like spoiled meat You can put sprinkles and icing on s**t, but that doesn't make it a cake The smell and the flies will prevail and you'll realize it's really not great No matter how pretty the wrapper or how shiny the baking sheet No amount of skilled plating can hide the fact that it f*****g stinks and it definitely wasn't sweet © 2022 Jacques - iNkwireAuthor's Note
