Junk Food ManA Poem by Jacques - iNkwireWrote this after feeling cheapened and being ghosted for something shallower. This is a companion piece to my other poem, "Monosodium Intimate".
Maybe I'm not as quick
And maybe I'm not as easy But with me you'd be full And I wouldn't make you queasy You can't just reach for me Whenever you feel like it You'll need a fork and plate, But at least I'm not full of s**t I don't have MSG sprinkled on me I'm not made for mass appeal No artificial colors here At least my ingredients are real You get what it says on the tin There's no false advertising No flashy packaging, No famous sponsors, but I'm appetizing That guy comes in a wrapper and he's seasoned with fake What he's got'll run right through you He's less to give and more to take If you want some quick, cheap fix go for him - by all means but I won't sit here on your shelf 'cause I've places to be Go ahead with your junk food man I'd rather take my chances On the farmer's stand Than waste time without a glance © 2022 Jacques - iNkwireAuthor's Note
