Sorry, Richard

Sorry, Richard

A Poem by Jacques - iNkwire
"

This poem was originally meant to be humorous, but it's honestly hard to joke about. The piece is primarily about some struggles and addictions of mine, but touches on some of what led me here.

"
I'm so sorry, Richard
I didn't mean to treat you bad
I know my heart has pain and anger
So I turned you into a punching bag

You do nothing to hurt me,
Yet I always hurt you
It is worst when I'm lonely
And don't know what to do

I can sense your disinterest
Because it looks like mine
My heart wants nothing to do with
What I look for online

It's just cheaper than morphine
And safer than crack
Too many names and faces,
So I've since lost track

It's a fountain of shame
And gets me lost
Sometimes I just feel lame
Wonder what edge I've crossed

I know you're exhausted
And need some rest
I beat you too often
And don't treat you the best

I grew up hearing bad things
About the pain you cause
Or the trouble you bring
Now I know they're false

You don't do bad things
And you don't cause problems
You're just along for the ride
Even when I act dumb

Sorry, Richard

About
Hi. Most of my work is poetry, but I intend to put some stories out in the future. I write about what makes me feel strongly. This approach mostly results in romantic pieces, but I hope to branch o.. more..
