One of my few attempts at non-rhyming (prose?) poetry. Handwritten in 2017.

Good boy friend? Good husband?

Are those bad goals?

It's not as though I have no

ambition

Those are just

The prime directive

I'm not a girl from the 20's

and I've a shoulder on my

head...I mean head on my

shoulders

I'm certainly not helping myself

though I'd  sooner help my

partner than I'd help me

Am I some pet dog or a simpleton?

Should I feel shame for not

being ashamed of the former?
