State of Emergency

State of Emergency

A Poem by Jacques - iNkwire
"

I wrote this during the Kincaid fires of 2019. What it's like to worry about someone who isn't your responsibility.

"
Look at me writing
like you've traveled seven seas
As if it's so frightening
when you're not next to me

We're in the same county,
but you feel so far
I find myself frowning
as I don't know where you are

You might have stayed
You might have fled
You might be alive
You might be dead

It's not my business
since I'm not yours
Just wish I'd a witness
to where you're stored

You need to watch
your own behind
It's just that you're always
on part of my mind

From so little
I've just gained so much
Like your smile
or your eyes are my crutch

About
Hi. Most of my work is poetry, but I intend to put some stories out in the future. I write about what makes me feel strongly. This approach mostly results in romantic pieces, but I hope to branch o.. more..
