WrenchingA Poem by RoseJust a quickly written one.Butterflies rip through my stomach, My knee's start to tremble, A overwhelming heat fills my face, My heart beats five times faster; He is here. His piercing eyes stare into mine, My eyelids widen, I turn my gaze away. "Hey!" He shouts across the room, I bite my lip excitedly, "Hi!" I squeal pressing my elbows into my sides, It hurts but I do not stop. I get no more attention from him, And yet I glance at him every few seconds; His face has slight changes from the one in my head. He looks at me, A question in his mind. I run out the room, The lesson has ended, I walk home slowly, I know I will see him. Who is the girl in front of me? Why is she with him? Why? My racing heart falters, Trembling on a thin string. They are holding hands, They don't let go. I see them kiss Good-Bye, He walks through his door, Taking my heart with him. "Take care of it." I whisper into the wind. © 2010 RoseAuthor's Note
