Notice Me

My feelings

Sometimes I wish you'd notice me,

That you'd ask me how I was.

I wish that you'd hug me on a bad day,

And tell me it was okay.

I wish you'd want to talk to me,

Or see me every day.

I wish you would notice me, 

Every now and then.

I wish that you could see me at times like this,

I also wish that you were real,

Or that I had somebody to love.

Author's Note

These were my thoughts today, before I realised that I had no-one that could ever love me, because I have never met someone that I could love as more than a friend or family.

Aw. . .that's so sweet. Your writing is really good. Before I read your note, I was wondering who it was directed towards--an absentee father or mother, a friend who you might have thought was cooler or more sophisticated (my favorite theme for young adult lit), or perhaps a boy you were crushing on. It really is a nice piece.

The family and friends in our lives play large roll in our emotions and how full or empty our heart feels. Yet, I understand the need to have that knight in shiny armor, one that can show the heart love in a way that blood can not.
It finds it's way into our lives... sometimes it sneaks up and taps on the shoulder when we are least expecting it. Other times we'll be staring at it like a painting for many years before we figure out what it meant to us.
