Hollywood Endings

Hollywood Endings

A Poem by Erin
"

How things could be if the initiative is taken.

"

I know the feeling.
I do.
You're solid.
A brick wall (made entirely of cracks).
Unite all (for one breath).

Trailing,
Trying to learn:
But not keeping up.
Invincible Still.
Oh god.
The manipulation.
How can she do it?
How could I do it?
Whimpering at searing flesh,
The scents of the summer:
Beer and Sweat and Spit and Sex.
What a wish--
Whata dream.
Raze what you have sown,

Walk into the sunset with the inferno blazing behind you.
Body blackened with ash (finally as dirty as you feel),
Peeling like a layer of skin.
Inhaling grit,
adding character.
Coughing,
laughing,
Crying.
Your Triumphant Exit...
Minus the fanfare.
Life,
Life SHOULD NOT BE

like this.
Hard and Shiny,
While you are
Dull and Dim.
Sour Grapes.
This is Bullshit.

Now do something about it.

Fascinating..the title is perfect..I am left uncertain as to what happened..but it had to have been something damn wild!

I like this a lot. It has an unanswered question in it, a plea.

Wow Erin! What a message! I'm really liking this. How potent and almost angry. I LOVE the title. It fits perfectly. I almost had the vision of the author speaking with a cynical laugh. Nicely done!
