My Secret Longing

My Secret Longing

A Poem by Erin

I have been waiting here--
For decades

centuries
eons.

Mired in this,
emotions

of pain and passion and lust and love and blood and sweat and tears.

God, have I been punished.
But I long for so much more.

I am rootless without you.

The flames that burn within me
no longer sear.
I need more pain.
More love.
Give me SOME feeling I can react to.

Mindless ecstasy
Primitive feelings
Drunken swirls,
circling.
a heat a fire a burning desire.

Clasping, Clinging
Drowning in Dance.

Sweat and Song
Hands scrabbling
at the nape of my neck.
Slick Skin.

We are:
Contrasting fires

Burning each other out.
A dance of Prey and Predator
you are Dangerous, Deadly.
I embrace your warmth.

I loved this poem Erin. You continue to produce nothing but absolutely wondeful poetry,a dn I must say that you definitely may have a future in this area. there were a couple of mistakes, so I left some notes for you to fix them. This poem has great description and wording and I loved reading it. You need to enter this in a contest, I recommend one called "Free Verse Free For All". This poem would definitely place. I don't reall know anything else to tell you but to fix some of the errors I pointed out in the notes. Overall: Great Job!
