Day offA Story by Frankie Nguyen
My heart was beating to the sound of the music. The techno beat flowing through my veins causing me to tap my foot. The lights were bright and shined off the eyes of everyone. You could clearly see little sweat droplets on each other their faces. This was one of my favorite clubs. It would be awkward to work in a club you didn't like. It would make the job horrible.
However I wasn't working tonight. This was one of my much needed days off. I actually wanted a drink made for me instead of me making the drink for someone else. The only down side to working at a club; no drink on the clock. I could dance if I wanted to, but no drinking. So I embraced my day off and gladly chugged my drinks. After I'd finished my third drink I decided to hit the dance floor. My insane dance moves would make everyone jealous. They probably wouldn't, but oh well. I danced my way over to the dance floor and to the center of the floor. I wrapped my arms around the cutie in front of me pulling them towards me. Their hair was brunette and soft against my cheek. It smelled of fruits and their arms were soft. They moved their hips perfectly with the music, sending my heart racing. I tried to pull them closer and placed my hands on their hips. We moved with the music, our bodies moving together like magic. I smiled as they turned around their brown eyes staring deep into mine. "Can I buy you a drink?" I asked. They nodded grabbing my hand. We went to the bar sitting down and I bought them a tequila. They smiled. "My favorite." Their voice was soft and bubbly and awfully cute. I bought me the same drink smiling to them. "You looked like a tequila person." We got our drinks cheering before drinking. We finished our drinks making small talk in between. This was nice. This was a great day off so far. As they night slowly began to end I smiled as we walked to the door. Would I be taking this person home with me? I doubted it. I never took people home. Our fingers were intertwined as we walked out into the warm night. I smiled and hugged them tight. "We should do this again." I said as their warm lips touched mine. "Yes we should." he said walking off into the night. © 2011 Frankie Nguyen |
