Poem 3.15

Poem 3.15

A Poem by Belle

Foolish I was,  to have

looked in the mirror of your soul

dove into your core

swayed into your sweet song

Foolish I was, to have

made mine self  a crystalline

let you conquered my domain

allowed  you to marry my mind

Now,  all that foolishness

all that absurdities of mine

are bringing me back on the brink

on the brink of endless darkness

Foolish I was, to have

once more believed

in Odysseus and Penelope

            I forgot to remember

            that love --

            Love seldom stays.

The ideal relationships shown on TV and in stories sometimes don't exist in real life. They are not true to all people and to all couples.

Ma'am Belle, this is a great work. As I was reading the piece, i could feel you. I could feel the way the poetic person (probably you) felt. You were able to let me, and probably the others also, connect to the piece through its emotional appeal.

Really, poetry is a good outlet for emotional outbursts. Though the emotion you conveyed in this great piece is filled with sadness or sorrow, you were able to create a piece that defines you as a great writer. Sometimes, it's true that out of sadness comes greatness - the greatness that comes from the stronger person that you become amidst the challenges in life and the greatness of the literary piece that sprouted from your emotion.

Cheer up, Ma'am Belle! =)
And keep writing great pieces, please. hehehe

Beautiful, well formed, easy to read verses. Sadly romantic content that is expressed very well.
Another very fine piece, Belle.

Always a pleasure to read your work, Belle.
A foolishness we have all felt. Perfectly captures the feeling of when all we can feel is that love seems to be nothing more than an incurable disease, which we all get infected with at some point. beautifully written.

oh, made me smile... :) glad your writing again...
well aren't we all become foolish with it comes to love...
we become awkward, we forget some little details... or even we forgot to wear life vest and drown ourselves into the deep emotions of love... never breathing as if you breathe each other's air...

"allowed you to marry my mind" ~ that happens when someone already took the other half of your heart...

the last stanza is quite and epic end... yes love seldom stays if you don't grab hold of it.. because if you let it set aside...you'll lose it on the see of doubt...

awesome one my friend...

Moved by your melody, and the deep and warm sincerity of this song. This could of only been mined at the source, the soul. Beautifully sad and well written, Belle. My favorite of yours so far. Thank you for sharing it
