A LIMERICK!?A Poem by i.am.the.sun.an old poem for an old girlfriend. well, she was young and so was i, but... christ, you know what i mean.(An oldie, that's for sure.)
So I’m rather quite taken with you, You’re one of a kind So I’ve written you a limerick, A kind of poem, or a rhyme.
Although I missed you for Christmas And for the days in between You’re here now, Where I can hug you And you can hug me. One times, two times, Or even eighteen!
Though both our 25ths of Decembers Weren’t really stellar, I think if we try We can make New Year’s quite better.
The internet’s out And I can’t talk to you *pout* So I thought I’d just lie here and write. When the cogs started turning And the feelings started flowing I realized you’re not far out of sight.
You’re behind every tree And around every corner A glint in the window And a flash in the mirror.
So close I can smell you So far I can miss you You’ve left quite an impression on me
Although I can’t wait Another four days Another four days it will be.
I miss you a lot Because I like you a lot You’re an expert at making me smile
This is a terrible stanza Because nothing that would make sense In this poem rhymes with smile.
I’m glad you’re here Reading this If you weren’t I’d still be waiting Writing and wanting.
