Iron cage.

Iron cage.

A Poem by i.am.the.sun.

Iron cage
Ten feet tall
Spikes on the top
Make you wanna crawl.

Smoke in the air
Rusty black rivets
Dented old metal
thats riddled with divets

Swinging by the wind
Ripping through the cage
Hanging from a chain
Hung over a stage.

Glowing eyes
Flickering firelight
Shows a sea full
Of faces in the night

Your name’s etched into the bars
Over and over
when fingers run over it,
in the minds eye
your face is sketched.

Fleeting moments
Comforting thoughts
Twisted links
And tied up knots

Chained and shackeled
Theres no escape
From the fire
The pain
The hurt
And the hate.
