I said a million ‘hi how are you?’s
And every time she said back
‘fine, how do you do?’
I replied ‘well, i’m so-so’
She always said ‘i know’,
because she knew.

Her eyes always blinked,
But they never quite closed.
Never shut me out.
When she saw into mine
Time stood still and my
Heart froze.

I can still feel the prick
From that thorn on the rose
That she gave to me
Before she walked away.
She never said goodbye.
I stood there and watched her go.
Her perfume, still in the air,
Gently wisped by.

She only walked away once
But she never came back.
She was my lover
I’ve looked for her since.

I still haven't found her.
