empirical

empirical

A Poem by i.am.the.sun.

you tell me love is non-empirical
i'll show you love
i'll show you a man
who works every day of his life
for pennies an hour
just to save what he can
so his kids can have something
when he dies.

you tell me freedom
is non-empirical
i'll show you freedom
i'll show you a bucket of blood
blood from the sons and fathers
who died in the slaughter
for your right to tell me
that theres no proof of what they faught for.

you tell me justice
is non-empirical
and i agree.
when freedom comes at the cost of so much blood
and money overshadows the power of absolute love,
when so many people can die
in unmarked graves
in unmarked fields
for their countrymen's lives
and their home-style meals,
and who still get censored,
tried, and appealed in court
for being an individual
and exorcising rights.
for being anti-biblical
and cursing holy-nights;
there can be no justice in sight.
not while we all still hide from the boss
with our heads all low,
while there's still borders to cross
and laws i cant follow.
