through my teeth.A Poem by i.am.the.sun.
The building blocks on the table spell out how I feel
about you, about me, I can read them but I just cant say them the words fall through my teeth like a slippery eel wriggling writhing to find its way back to the cold comfort of the deep, the dark, the erie... The thick black water called memory The ground holds you up like I wish I could, but every time I try you get up and walk away. Every single time I wish that you'd stay. I'd chase you but my feet are made of clay, so I just stand there and wish you understood that in my position my only option is to always fall prey to these feelings you give me when you walk my way You're with a bad crowd and I want to help but the ones you trust are the ones who balk, they shout and yell, they shut out he sound to you when i talk. I wish my feet weren't made of clay so we could go for a walk, so i could tell you you've more cards than you think you've been dealt. now all I hear is the sound of a clock, with a tick, then a tock and my heart sinks like a stone, a boulder, a rock. Because my time's run out, the clay has set. so here I'll stand here forever trying and crying as every hope and dream falls through my hands together, with the eels swimming through my head. My teeth are a dam abandoned long ago holding back water that needs to flow. I can't speak, I gotta shout, I've got to find the words and get them out, because I can't, I wont, I need to, I don't, I've got to find these words and let them go. © 2011 i.am.the.sun.Reviews
