Glass slipper

Glass slipper

A Poem by i.am.the.sun.
"

This is fairly old. I did have someone in mind while writing it but the aggressiveness and spite has nothing to do with her. The point was supposed to be just that I still have nice memories of her.

"
I can throw myself into the ocean no matter how wide
I know I'll reach the other side.
I can walk through the fire safe from the burn
never in doubt that I can return.

How time has slipped by
personalities switch.
I wish it was different
but now you're a b***h.
Still I must thank you
for giving this gift,
my last second weapon
for dealing with s**t.

Now you're so far gone
There's nothing really left to even hope to come back.
Maybe I'm to blame
I'm not really anything to hope to come back to.

At least I wasn't.

At least I wasn't gone when you needed me
At least I wasn't gone when you needed me
At least I wasn't gone when you needed me
At least I didn't keep you from choosing to be free.

I don't need you now,
I still have you then.
A snapshot of beautiful
before midnight's end.
My glass slipper gift,
A smile in the dark,
A Cinderella souvenir,
Memento of the heart.
