The Benefit Of Hindsight

The Benefit Of Hindsight

A Poem by Lungile I Mtsweni
"

Self-discovery and Introspection through themes that include hindsight, personal growth, love, relationships, faith and spirituality

"

Verse 1

I woke up from the dream, reality hit me cold

The blush is gone, frozen time's grown old

Looking back on memories, the love and the pain

And I realize, hindsight's the only way to gain

[Chorus]

See, the benefit of hindsight, is a gift and a curse

Shows me what I could've done, also what I have traversed

Through the fire and the rain, I have grown, I have learned

In the benefit of hindsight, all that makes me yearn

Verse 2

Now, to the crush in my childhood

I saw it and I felt it but I feared to act on it

With all the lessons learned, readiness made me apt

To meet my queen, and stand a king

Verse 3

The stature of a queen, with eyes so bright

Her smile so friendly, her touch so warm

Her height so royal, her body so angelic

Her beauty so youthful, and she calls me Honey " Ohhh!!

Verse 4

My comfort in her presence, hers in my presence

No tension at all, It is meant to be easy

It is easy in silence, it is easy and tender

She is always in my mind, I am always in her heart

Verse 5

As I strip it all bare, so as to bear it all

From the top to the toe, I toast it all in all

“To the core of the truth, raising love et honesty,

As stayed in the beauty, the beauty of history in my story her story"

[Extended Chorus]

Learned the benefit of history, the gist of hindsight

A tool so nifty, to navigate my future

That I miss not a step that I miss not a turn

To the point of my triumph, the bliss with my queen

The benefit of hindsight, is a gift of progress

Shows me what I could've done, but also what I've traversed

Through all trials and the glory, I've reflected, I have willed

Yeah the benefit of hindsight, is what makes me win

Verse 6

"I openly accept, that love's not just a flame,

But a choice to obey, to honour and sustain.

In mutual respect, we find our strength,

Together we stand, as king and queen at length."

Verse 7 (concluding verse)

As I stand with my queen, the manifest aide memoire to give credence unto God,

I'm grateful for temperance as always in patience.

With kindness understanding, fortitude and faith,

In knowledge and wisdom as vested in piety,

Conferred prophetically in poetry,

As we heal and prosper in spite of trials,

Through divine miracles, showing of the Spirit, our guide and leader,

As we strive to be the best of who we ought to be,

While united as family, as we stand as one,

In righteousness, order, and moral rectitude our bond forever sealed by the Spirit of promise,

The holy Spirit of God.

The benefit of hindsight, is the Ancient of Days

From time immemorial, to the time so eternal

Never changing never flinching, just perfectly consistent

So reflect, know His will

Chart your course in obeisance

To Him and only Him, and you’ll always be a treasure

To Him and your family

In reflecting be fearless to adapt and embrace

That in hindsight: Selah: The Ancient of Days

It ain’t about your past but your eternal future
