Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by Hanhil
"

Letting go

"
Sort out my heart in this mess
Left behind, your love's a jest
Retained my soul but the spark's gone
The dream now stand all alone.

Fighting sleep and monsters under the bed
A dam formed from all the tears unshed
When the end comes before the start
When the Viola to your Orsino part.

A lilting lullaby in the wind,
The chill asunder deep within
All the Rage, all the hidden forms!
We were always a fight against norms..

An act it was, Stage three
It wasn't just to set you free.
My heart's anything but sore
Still you don't know me anymore.

"your love's a jest"... it's pretty sad that someone can make you feel this way.. I liked the Viola and Orsino reference, Orsino who is ridiculous about love... it added a bit of complexity, and also the part "still you don't know me anymore", makes you wonder who really understands anyone, or if they are indeed in love, did they take the time to know? goodbyes are so final.. I don't like them... a really great write.

Goodbye's take on so many metaphors it's easy to forget about the inspiration.
Memories like poltergeist..they haunt our dreams....relationships often become figments of time...

I know a beautiful poem, when the words climb inside my mind, decorating my skull walls with relatable, powerful portraits and imagery..... so, beautiful poem, Hanhil ;)

Marvelous verse! This was so lyrical and lovely that it was absolutely wonderful to read.... three times :)

"a lilting lullaby in the wind

all the rage, all the hidden forms
we were always a fight against norms"

Brilliant! I love this stanza ^_^

Lovely lyricism. So much of what goes on between people is ships passing in the night -- even if it takes years to see that! Heart to heart is an art transcending the weather changes of egoities. Love's our finest attunement, & the most elusive. Here's to sunny new "Hellos"!
