Mask

Mask

A Poem by Kelsey B.

Take off your mask,

Show us who you really are.

Expose your inner demons,

Open the closet to your hidden skeletons.

Do not cast aside your words of poisoned honey;

We know where your ideals lie.

We know who you are,

behind that wonderful mask.

Very powerful.

Your emotions can be read very clearly.

I love it!

Great job.

Very precise words for what you are describing! In a way I feel a feeling of fierceness in this poem! And I like the idea of the mask although its not the first time I hear of the metaphor: You should know "Lord of the Flies"? it has a very strong metaphor about releasing the inner self/what is really inside each and everyone of us humans(psychologically) and its quite pessimistic about the human disposition....You should check it out if you haven't already...Good write : )
