Addiction

Addiction

A Poem by hypochondrita

I wish they could see

the amount of power you have over me

I wish you’d lift the veil

so at least they’d understand

and give me a much needed hand

but you don’t...

so they won’t.

I’m no stranger to the way

you make sure I always pay

whenever I make a mistake

doesn’t matter how big or small

you won’t rest until I swallow it all

you think you can do

whatever you want to

and I confirm this belief everyday

whenever I let you stay

I don’t know how to cease

this dependence and sign my release

what I know is that

when I finally dismantle your act

there’ll be no weaknesses left untapped.
