Illusory Power Source

Illusory Power Source

A Poem by hypochondrita
"

growing up and realising the world might not be as peaceful as it seemed

"
People would tell me all the time
Don't worry, kid, you will survive
And recently I've come to realise
How lucky I am to have the world's evil stay in disguise
It's hard not to be an optimist
When you're written down on the privileged list
Inside a life sized safe room
That keeps away most forms of doom
It's tricky to have such a positive mentality
Trusting the universe faithfully
'Cause superhero's complex is a thing
And it might overdevelop in a blink
Problem with that is...
To contain superpowers in a safe room is a hit and miss
The exit sign will eventually appear
Opening you up to a new atmosphere
Overflown with pain
Filled with a population that has every reason to go insane
What could possibly be so different about us
Apart from the fact I made the odds' favored cut
Complicated to say the least
When the truth is released
And you finally understand
Those so called iron fists were nothing but a set of hands...

You are right.
"When the truth is released
And you finally understand
Those so called iron fists were nothing but a set of hands..."
The world above are true. Just men run the world. Like us. Will get old and die. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry. You made me think today.
