Sun x You

                                                             I lie before the sun because it burns

                                   I lie before the sun because I know my face will turn red with no permission

                                                    I lie before the sun because it sucks up my energy

                                    I lie before the sun because it leaves me exhausted by the end of the day

                                               I lie before the sun because it leads to a painful aftermath

                                                                           

                                                                           Funny enough, 

                                          those are the same damn reasons I can't lie next to you anymore...

I love the sun, but too much is painful and bad for me, just like an unhealthy relationship. Precautions are necessary.

what is a "painful aftermath?" I wished there was more to that line.

Otherwise, I thought you did a good job of portraying the irony of comparing the sun to someone you have a relationship with or rather former it seems. The last line did give me a chuckle.

Its supposed to relate the pain behind a sunburn and the bad feeling in your gut after you stick around someone who's toxic to you and all of their presence's negative consequences.
